What is a bento cake?
A small cake in a lunch-box, for two or three people. Why bento cakes caught on, and when one is the right choice.

A bento cake is a small cake, about 300 g, packed in a lunch-box style container. It feeds two to three people, and it is meant to be given as much as eaten.
Why they caught on
A full cake is a lot for two people. A bento cake is the right size for a quiet anniversary, a surprise at the office, or a birthday that is just the two of you. The box makes it easy to carry and easy to hand over.
What you can put on one
The top is small, so the design is simple on purpose:
- a short message or a name
- a small drawing or a single flower
- a colour to match the occasion
Keep the message short. Five or six words read beautifully on a bento cake; a full sentence does not fit.
Bento or 1 lb?
If it is for two or three people, a bento cake. If it is for a family of four or more, a 1 lb cake, which feeds four to five.
Ordering one
Bento cakes are baked to order like everything else, so give us two to three days' notice. They deliver across Islamabad and Rawalpindi, or you can arrange a pickup.
